My name is Marisa Lopez, my name as illustrator is Sarima, just the result of invert the syllables of my name.
I was born in Bilbao (Basque country-Spain) and I've lived in Madrid during 12 years, my second mother country.
I studied fashion design in the Basque Institute for new careers and I've worked as bridal and scenic costumes designer and patronist for many years.
I've taught drawing and painting to adults and children, as well as crafts, fashion design and art history.
For my artwork I'm using mixed techniques, pencil sketches, scanned and coloured in photoshop and painter with a wacom digital tablet.
In 2008, "Anita" was selected to be included in Ballistic publishing "Exotique 3", annual publication which lists the best worldwide artworks of digital artists.
I worked as graphic and textile designer for "Zen Spirit", as illustrator for "Clara" magazine, as 3D creator for “Bitart” and scenery and characters development for an educational video game of "Gestionet."
I’m dedicated to editorial illustration for books, magazines and role-playing games, I collaborate with photographers to retouching and photomanipulation, I build websites and performed graphic design works for companies and design studios.
In 2009, "Amalurra" was awarded first prize in the illustration contest “Mallorca Fantástica”
Currently I’m the Art Director of “Imaginarios” fantasy magazine produced by Federación de fantasía épica & Universidades lectoras.
In November 2011, my first book as illustrator, "Ilunabar Magic Fables" was published by Dibbuks editorial.
